Visiting Birr Castle

DCNYF are delighted to collaborate with Birr Castle, Brendan Parsons, the Seventh Earl of Rosse and his family on many aspects of the festival. Birr Castle is situated in the heart of Ireland in Co. Offaly has a fascinating history that includes extensive, long-established links with China. Among its treasures are the famous Giant Telescope, a Historic, Science and Photographic Centre, a magnificent botanic collection of plants from all over the world including the Yunnan province woodland. Part of the rich collection of artefacts here are key to events in the 2010 festival. Birr Demesne is a delight to visit, walk through and enjoy all year around.
